What is NorskMentor?

NorskMentor is a learning platform for everyone learning Norwegian. You practise reading, listening, writing, speaking, grammar and vocabulary at levels A1 to B2, on the web and in the mobile app.

Which levels does NorskMentor cover?

A1, A2, B1 and B2 on the Common European Framework. You choose the level yourself, and the reading and listening content follows that choice.

Can I use NorskMentor for the Norwegian language test?

Yes. The task types follow the four parts of the test, and you can sit a timed reading test where the clock keeps running even if you leave the app, and dictionary and translation stay locked until you hand in. NorskMentor is practice, not an official exam, and is not affiliated with the authorities running the test.

What does NorskMentor cost?

There is a free plan with the core modules, and a paid plan for heavier AI feedback and deeper analysis. The prices are on the pricing page.

Does NorskMentor work on mobile?

Yes. The website is built for phone, tablet and computer. The mobile app for Android and iOS is in closed testing and uses the same account as the website.

Which languages can I use in the app?

The interface is in Norwegian and English. Word explanations and translations appear in your own language, so you can read Norwegian content without switching to a dictionary.

What kind of feedback do I get on writing and speaking?

For writing you get a level, a summary, strengths, improvements and comments on communication, vocabulary, grammar and fluency. For speaking you get a transcript, pronunciation, fluency and completeness, plus the words that came out unclear. The feedback is generated by AI and can contain mistakes.

Can my teacher see what I do?

Only if you are connected to a teacher or a school. Then you get assignments with deadlines, hand your work in inside the app and read your teacher's feedback in the same place. Without that connection your work is your own.

Do I need a teacher or a course to use NorskMentor?

No. The platform is built to be used on your own, with a level you choose and a recommendation for what to do next. If you do have a teacher, the two work together.
